We frequently receive questions about why Atriis does not allow the booking of multiple hotel rooms within one single trip.
Below you will find a clear explanation of the reasons behind this limitation.
Atriis is designed in a way that each trip is centered around one primary traveler.
When several rooms are booked under one trip, a number of technical issues and risks can occur, which we want to outline transparently.
What happens when multiple rooms are booked in one trip?
1. Traveler data is only transmitted for the first traveler
In a multi‑room booking, Atriis only sends the additional traveler details of the first person.
All other travelers are not transmitted correctly to the hotel.
2. Only one combined billing authorization is created
For multiple rooms, Atriis generates just one single billing or cost authorization document.
As a result, it is not possible to separate the costs per traveler or room.
3. Changes or cancellations always affect all rooms simultaneously
When all rooms are tied together in one trip, modifications cannot be handled individually.
This means:
Either the entire trip is changed, or the entire trip is canceled.
Individual adjustments for specific travelers or rooms are not possible.
4. Hotels often receive only the first traveler’s name
In many cases, the hotel receives a reservation that appears as:
➡ Multiple rooms booked under a single traveler’s name.
This may lead to:
- inaccurate guest lists
- additional questions at check‑in
- potential issues assigning rooms to the correct travelers
Our recommendation
To ensure accurate data transmission, clear billing, and smooth coordination with the hotel, we strongly recommend:
Creating a separate trip in Atriis for each hotel room.
This ensures that:
- all travelers are transmitted correctly
- costs are clearly separated
- changes or cancellations remain flexible
- the hotel receives complete and correct guest information
Optional: Function can be enabled if you accept the limitations
If you still prefer to book multiple rooms within a single trip, we can enable this functionality upon request.
However, this is only possible if you explicitly confirm that you accept the limitations listed above.
