Can I add a train-to-plane ticket (Rail&Fly) to my group flight?

Modified on Tue, 8 Aug, 2023 at 12:06 PM

With many scheduled airlines, a Rail&Fly or train-to-flight ticket can be booked in either 1st or 2nd class on European and international flights for a fee and before the ticket is issued.

"DB strong destinations" such as Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris and Vienna are excluded from the Rail&Fly program.

The train-to-flight ticket entitles you to travel throughout Germany to the departure airport on the day of travel itself or on the day before the outward flight / on the day after the return flight, and this on all product classes in the Deutsche Bahn travel class booked (ICE and IC use included ). Local public transport (bus & tram and underground), as well as the Flixtrain and the French train with the TGV are not included. Reservations are required for ICE Sprinter trains and a separate surcharge applies, this also applies to City Night Line trains.

Since the train-to-flight ticket can be used flexibly on all DB trains and is not tied to a specific train, no seat reservations are included, these can be booked separately if desired. For the exact times, connections and any seat reservations, customers should contact Intertours or Deutsche Bahn directly, or https://www.bahn.com/en

It is important that you check in online before you start your journey (by train) at Check-in train ticket (rail-checkin.com). The Rail&Fly train ticket can be accessed no earlier than 72 hours before the respective train journey. We recommend loading the ticket onto your smartphone or printing it out. For the online check-in, the entry of the name and optionally the booking code or the ticket number of the Rail&Fly ticket is required and then the ticket can be loaded onto the smartphone, sent by e-mail or downloaded directly.
