What happens if I need to change someone's name?

Modified on Fri, 21 Apr, 2023 at 11:27 AM

Each airline has different terms/conditions, which are described both in the offer and in the order confirmation.

Once it is clear that you need to change a passenger's name, be proactive in contacting us so that we can discuss the best time and associated cost to change the name.

There are 3 scenarios with different consequences:

a) The names have not yet been entered into the booking or reported to the airline:

No problem, exchange the name / person in your documents and send Intertours the current list of names at the required time.

b) The names have already been entered in the booking or reported to the airline, but no tickets have been issued yet:

With many airlines, the name can usually be changed free of charge between transmission and ticket issue. In some cases, however, there may be restrictions, e.g. only a certain percentage of changes are allowed overall.

c) The names have already been entered in the booking or reported to the airline and the tickets have already been issued:

Only very few airlines allow a name change, especially a change of person, after the ticket has been issued. If there is just a minor spelling mistake in the name, or if the name needs to be changed due to marriage, some airlines will grant "goodwill" and allow the change for a small fee. The important thing here is that it stays the same person. If costs are incurred for this change, these will be invoiced separately by Intertours.
