Travel policies consist of two parts:
- Rules
- Actions
Rules
In the rules you define in which cases an action is required, i.e. you define for each situation whether a rule is activated or not. You can choose from product-related and trip-related rules and combine them with each other.
The parameters with which you can build rules:
fligth | hotel | rental car | trip |
booking class ticket class Flight fare Difference to the cheapest price Difference to the highest Joy destination flight time departure time airline Instant purchase initiator Planned date Airline Type CO² emission Net flight time (without layover) refundability number of stops Fare Basis departure | Location cost per night total cost Surname Type Instant purchase Non-cancellable initiator room type limitations minimum price check in date | total cost cost per day Class Location initiator vehicle class Offerer | planning date |
Actions
Actions determine what exactly should happen, provided the set parameters are correct. The following values are available to you as options:
- Justification for a violation (Request out of policy justification)
For a reason, you can choose between free text or a dropdown with predefined values.
- Prevent booking process (Restrict result selection)
The results remain visible (which is very important for the acceptance of travelers), but the booking cannot be continued.
For a better understanding, see the following example:
It is possible to link rules in such a way that a business class flight can be booked if the difference to the cheapest available price is a maximum of +10% and the flight time is more than 5 hours. The campaign stipulates that all flights outside the rules (more than +10% more expensive & less than 5 hours) cannot be booked in the search result at all.
Do a little testing to get a feel for the possibilities.
We would be happy to discuss your implementation ideas with you!
