I made a change in the approval structure, but the submitted report still needs to be approved by the old approver?

In this article, we'll show you how to handle changes to the approval structure.

As an administrator, if you make changes to the approval structure under Approval that  affect a report that has already been submitted, you must resubmit the report for approval. The following article shows you how to resend the affected reports so that they reach the new approver. 

Torsten Traveller has submitted a report which is now awaiting approval. 

Now we want to change the approval structure that affects this report, and we want to make sure that the new approver receives the report for approval.

If you go to Approval, you can see that the organization has an approval structure by organizational structure. Torsten Traveller is still deposited here as an approver for the organization Intertours TEST. This means that all reports of this organization are sent to him for review and approval. 

Now we want to exchange approvers in this organization. To do this, click on the name. In the new pop-up window, enter the name of the new approver in  the Search field, or select the new approver from the list and confirm your entry by clicking OK and saving the change. 

If we now go back to billing, we  can see that Torsten Traveller is still on file as the approver for this report, even though we have changed the approval structure. That is why we need to resend the report for approval.

A new field opens where you can add a message for the new approver. Add a message or click Send directly. After the re-shipment, Anton Approver now has the report for approval.
