How does the flight delay compensation process work?

Modified on Wed, 17 May, 2023 at 8:36 PM

Delays or cancellations occur in around 1% of booked flights. According to the European Air Passenger Rights Regulation (Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004), compensation payments are possible in these cases.

Our system automatically detects delays and cancellations.

Procedure in detail

  1. Daily check of possible claims - fully automatically and without exchanging personal data.
  2. If we see a possibility of compensation, we will inform you by e-mail. We use the centrally stored e-mail to which your invoices are also sent.
  3. This email contains a "Claim Now" link that takes you to a webpage.
  4. On this website we ask you to provide further information so that the compensation process can be started.

This includes:

How many days before departure were you informed about the flight cancellation?

What reason were you given for the delay?

What other more detailed information can you give us?

Processing time

The processing time depends on the airline involved. The process can be successfully designed within weeks, but sometimes it can take several months.

Processing status

You will be informed by our partner about the processing status and the outcome of the process.
